Two more lazy days in Royan

This was more like it. Hot and sunny and nothing to do but hang about the beach. In fact, I can paste in some pictures but there is very little to tell. We were so lazy we never even wandered the town itself. I did make the children walk out the path to the point with me on our side of the beach, but it was under duress.

The way I see it on the map (and I did not research it), Vaux-sur-Mer is part of or next to the larger Saint-Palais-sur-Mer, both of which are attached to other "municipalities" all making up the Royan area of the Gironde estuary. Our little beach was called Nauzan. The whole point of land that the hotel sat on was private property full of summer houses called Domaine des Fées. The hotel was lovely and very relaxing.

The beach was fairly quiet in the mornings and got a bit busier in the afternoons. Later in the afternoons we'd have a dip in the hotel pool and sip a cold drink in the pool-side loungers.

We never even made it over there!

There are 3 restaurants in Vaux-sur-Mer. We went to one the first night but after that we ended up having charcuterie platter style dinners on the little patio outside our room.
